1. How did you become a part of MTF?
Aaron approached me about playing keyboards for the band back when it
was called Once Blind, so I did. A few months later the drummer position became available, so I was tansferred to that spot. About that same time, we changed our name to Mission TenForty.
2. What inspired you to become a musician?
The inspiration to become a musician never really hit me until after I
started playing beats on desks in school for the rappers. So I went into a music store once and sat down at a drum set and fiddled around. Later I was asked to join the praise band at my church. Not only did that give me an opportunity to help lead worship, it also gave me a chance to practice on a regular basis.
3. Besides the instrument you play for MTF, what other instruments do
you play?
Besides drums, I play piano, guitar, bass, practice pad, steering
wheel, kneecaps, bean pot, five gallon bucket, and whatever else makes a cool sound.
4. Who are some of your musical influences?
Third Day, Dave Crowder Band, Dave Matthews Band, Jeremy Camp, Silverchair, Victor Wooten, and The Oneders just to name a few.
5. What do you believe is your role in missions?
I believe that more than anything, God uses me as a sender and a person
of prayer for the missionaries spreading the Gospel around the world.
6. A random fact about Whitney...
One time in high school, four of my friends and I choreographed a dance
number to an *NSync song and filmed it hoping to win a $10,000 prize.
7. In 10 words or less, describe each of your band mates.
Aaron: Desires to serve God. Talented, creative, and normally very
fashionable.
Jake: My brother (in-law - really) - sweet dance moves and hilarious
stories.
Tyler: He's like real tall. A B-ball shooting, harmony singing dude.
TJ: Creatively gross and funny. Great preacher with a servant's
heart.
